1. Part Replacement

When replacing certain parts, it may be necessary to make adjustments using the service mode or to clear a counter. Below,

we discuss these parts that require adjustments after replacement as well as the adjustment procedures.

　

■Laser Scanner Unit

When the laser scanner unit is replaced, the numerical value indicated on the laser scanner unit label must be entered in the service-mode item.

Enter the service mode shown below, and enter the numerical value.

2. Maintenance Service

The following must be replaced, cleaned, or checked on a periodical basis by the service person.

Be sure to perform the appropriate work at the indicated intervals.

3. Troubleshooting

■E100-0000: BD Error

When a BD error occurs, take the following steps:

1) Check the connector between the laser scanner unit and the DC controller.

2) Replace the laser scanner unit.

3) Replace the DC controller circuit board.

　

■E110-0001, 0002, 0003: Laser Scanner Unit Failure

When the laser scanner unit fails, take the following steps:

1) Check to see if the laser shutter link is operating normally.

2) Check the connector between the laser scanner unit and the DC controller.

3) Replace the laser scanner unit.

4) Replace the DC controller circuit board.

4. Points to Remember during Service

■When Handling the Laser Scanner Unit

The laser scanner unit cannot be adjusted except by using special tools. Hence, you should never take it apart while servicing the unit out in the market.

　

■Interchangeability of the Laser Scanner Unit

There is no interchangeability between the laser scanner of the iR2270/2870 models and the laser scanner of the iR3570/4570 models.

Because these laser scanners have different numbers of pins on the connector with the scanner motor, it is impossible to mount the wrong type of laser scanner even if you try. Be sure to count the number of pins on the connector when mounting the laser scanner.
