Toner Bottle (iR2270/2870)
Purpose: Here, you are going to study the construction and the functions of the units that make up the image formation system as well as the mechanism used to detect faults.
1. Components
The machine’s image formation system consists of the following:

Purpose: Here, you will study the construction and the functions of the toner bottle in detail.
1. Outline
a. Function
The machine’s toner bottle serves the functions of the hopper of most machines. The machine is designed so that its is provided with a supply of toner as soon as a toner bottle is fitted in place.
b. Construction
The toner bottle is filled with 1-component insulating magnetic toner. When the toner feed plate found inside the bottle rotates, the toner is stirred and moved to the inside of the machine.
When the absence of toner (details in Developing Unit) is detected, the machine drives the toner bottle rotation motor (M5) to rotate the toner feed plate inside the toner bottle. As a result, the toner is pushed out of the outlet and sent to the sub hopper.
The toner bottle comes in 2 different types (different capacities) to suit specific machine models, and there is no compatibility between these bottles:
∙ for iR3570/4570: 1220 g
∙ for iR2270/2870: 1060 g
The following shows the construction of the toner bottle and the parts found around the bottle:
