Scaling Control

a. Overview

This control is performed when original is enlarged/reduced to read.
The scaling control differs between the main scan direction and the sub scan direction.
The scaling control in the main and sub scan directions is as follows.

　

b. Scaling control in the main scan direction

Original reading in the main scan direction is performed with 100% size. The main controller executes scaling at this time.

　

c. Scaling control in the sub scan direction

The scaling control in the sub scan direction differs according to original reading method and scaling factors.
The scaling control in Book mode and ADF mode is shown below.

　

1) Scaling control in BOOK mode

The original reading speed is changed and data processing on the reader controller PCB/main controller PCB is performed according to scaling factors.

e.g.) Reduced to 25%:
   Original reading speed: 236mm/sec, Reduced to 50% on the reader controller PCB (1/2 thinning out), Reduced to 50% on the main controller PCB (1/2 thinning out)

e.g.) 100% (direct copy):
   Original reading speed: 236mm/sec

2) Scaling control in ADF mode

The original reading speed is changed and data processing on the reader controller PCB/main controller PCB is performed according to scaling factors.

e.g.) Reduced to 25%:
   Original reading speed: 236mm/sec, Reduced to 50% on the reader controller PCB (1/2 thinning out), Reduced to 50% on the main controller PCB (1/2 thinning out)

e.g.) Enlarged to 400%:
   Original reading speed: 118mm/sec, Enlargement (200%; double) process on the main controller PCB
