Service Tasks
○Purpose:
Here, we will study the work conducted by the service person to ensure a
specific level of machine performance.

The following table describes the types of work performed by the
service person for the printer control system
For a further discussion, click the appropriate
item.

Parts Replacement
If replaced, some parts of the machine calls for adjustment or
counter initialization using service mode.
Be sure to perform the tasks indicated below
whenever you have replaced these parts.
■DC Controller PCB
When replacing the DC
controller PCB, remove the DIMM ROM [1] from the detached DC controller PCB, and
mount it on the new DC controller PCB.
■Heat discharge fan filter
If you have replaced the fan filter, you will
have to reset the fan filter life counter so that the count will start
anew.
Make the following selections in service mode
to reset the counter:
COPIER > COUNTER > DRBL-1 >
OZ-FIL-1
Each life count is kept in memory on the DC
controller PCB. If you have to replace the DC controller PCB, be sure to enter
the count that has been read of the previous PCB.
2.
Maintenance Servicing
The following must be replaced, cleaned, or checked on a periodical
basis by the service person.
Be sure to perform the appropriate work at the indicated
intervals.

■E010-0000 (fault in main motor)
If a fault has occurred in the main motor, go through the following
steps in sequence:
1) Check the connectors between
the main motor(M2) and the DC controller.
2) Replace the main
motor(M2).
3) Replace the DC controller
PCB.
■E014-0000 (fault in fixing motor)
If a fault has occurred in the fixing motor, go through the following
steps in sequence:
1) Check the connectors between
the fixing motor(M3) and the DC controller.
2) Replace the fixing
motor(M3).
3) Replace the DC controller
PCB.
■E805-0000 (fault in fan motor)
If a fault has occurred in the fan motor, go through the following
steps in sequence:
1) Check the connectors between
the fan(FM1, FM2) and the DC controller.
2) Replace the fan(FM1,
FM2).
3) Replace the DC
controller PCB.
