Registering the model of the punch unit
Particulars
The Installation Procedure has been found to require additional instructions. The affected pages are as follows: for
English, p. 7; for German, p. 16; for Italian, p. 34.
The Punch Unit Installation Procedure (F-IM-6295-020) has been updated to include the following instructions:
1. Registering the Hole Type
Register the hole type so that the finisher will recognize the number of holes for which the punch unit is designed
using the push switch found on the finisher controller PCB.
1) Check to make sure that he host machine is turned off.
2) Open the finisher front cover.
3) Slide out the finisher to the front.
4) Remove the PCB cover (2 screws) of the finisher assembly.
5) Set the DIP switch (SW1) of the finisher control PCB as follows:

6) Turn on the host machine.
7) Select the appropriate punch unit specifications by operating the push switch (SW2) as follows. Each press on the
push switch will cause the following indication sequence (1 through 4) to repeat:


LED(see Note)                                                    Unit type
1 flashes once,and then goes off                         4-hole(Puncher Unit-S1(FRA))
2 flashes twice,and then goes off                         2/3-hole(Puncher Unit-R1)
3 flashes 3 times,and then goes off                         2-hole(Puncher Unit-Q1)
4 flashes 4 times,and then goes off                         4-hole(Puncher Unit-T1(SWD))



Note:
Goes on and off at the following intervals: on for 300 msec, and then off for 200 msec.
8) When you have selected the appropriate unit type, hold down the push switch (SW2) so that the LED will indicate
the selected unit type and then remains on, indicating the completion of the write operation.
9) Turn off the host machine.
10) Put the DIP switch back to its initial setting.
11) Fit the PCB cover (2 screws) of the finisher assembly back on.
12) Push in the finisher.
13) Close the finisher front cover.
14) Turn on the host machine.
